Jazz Nights with Charlie Sepúlveda:
Every last Monday of the month, Luquillo Kiosk #20, aka Terruño, offers its patrons a free Jazz Night with Charlie Sepúlveda and his band.
Charlie lives in Luquillo and is a world-renowned jazz trumpet player. He received two Latin Grammy Nominations in the Best Latin Jazz Album category. He has eleven solo recordings as, well as, countless collaborated recordings.
He has been called “the trumpet player of his generation”.
“Sepúlveda covers vintage material by Lee Morgan (“Something Cute”), Herbie Hancock (“Chan’s Song”) and Freddie Hubbard (“Gibraltar”), bringing something new to each through creative arrangements.”
You can enjoy excellent food (you must try their Mofongo de Carne Frita – amazing!) and great drinks, while you listen to some of the best Latin Jazz you’ll ever hear.
If you are lucky, you will get there on a night when people spontaneously break out into dancing – it is quite a thing to see and enjoy! The atmosphere is jovial and fun and these Monday make for a fantastic night out for couples and friends.
The restaurant gets very full on Jazz nights, so be sure to call in advance and make a reservation for dinner.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see Charlie Sepúlveda live, when you visit Luquillo!
