Luiquillo was named after a Taino Indian Chief (cacique).
2% of El Yunque National Forest area has a cloud forest ecosystem.
Luquillo's Monserrate beach is one of only 8 Blue Flag Beaches in Puerto Rico.
Nearly 40% of El Yunque's Cloud Forest is specific only to Puerto Rico (endemic).
It rains daily in El Yunque with average rain fall of 200 inches per year.
You can walk for miles on Luquillo's beaches - 12 miles of beach shore in total.
